solidThinking User, Prototipi Design, wins MYDA – Millenium Yacht Design Award

mydaPrototipi Design, an italian design firm with offices in Bergamo, Milan and Turin and a long-time solidThinking user, won recently the 2009 edition of the Millenium Yacht Design Award in the Motor section. Their “Origami” project was awarded for the original morphological research, unconventional for motor yacths.

This year’s “M.Y.D.A. – Millennium Yacht Design Award”, now in its sixth consecutive year, was one of the most welcome events at Seatec, the seventh International Exhibition of technology, Subcontracting and Design for Boats, Yachts and Ships held from 5 to 7 February 2009 in Marina di Carrara.

Workshop in San Francisco / Registration Open

workshop_banner_03The California College of the Arts, School of Architecture in San Francisco organizes FLUX 2009, a series of workshops and lectures investigating Architecture and Design’s evolving relationship with parametric design and digital fabrication.

The workshops are open to students and professionals in the design disciplines.  The schedule includes Beyond Parametric Modeling with solidThinking, a 2 days workshop that will explore solidThinking and the freedom it provides to create design concepts for architectural design and product development.

solidThinking at SolidWorks World 2009

We will be making our debut appearance at SolidWorks World next week, Feb. 8-11 in Orlando, Florida, USA to join fellow SolidWorks World Solutions Partners.

Some members of the solidThinking team – including Robert Little, president, and Jim Hassberger, vice president of business development and customer relations – will be on site to showcase solidThinking’c capabilities and compatibility with CAD/CAM systems. They’re excited to share the recently introduced plug-in for SolidWorks with show attendees. Darren Chilton, one of our product specialist, will also be leading demos of solidThinking for booth visitors.
